NI Environment Week 2026 is taking place 28th September – 4th October this year.

The theme for this year’s Environment Week is Species Recovery. As in previous years, we are keen to host a broad range of events for the public throughout the week – to showcase our species and nature-rich heritage and the importance of species recovery in NI.

Events could include training activities, talks, guided walks, volunteering opportunities or anything else that you feel is appropriate. Events can focus on specific species, a specific site or landscape.

We are keen for species and nature recovery groups, environmental organisations, NIEL members, partner organisations and councils get involved and take this opportunity to host events throughout NI.
