NI Environment Week 2026 – Green Gym

Summary:

Green Gym at Brooke Park – get active outdoors, connect with nature, learn new skills and improve your mental and physical wellbeing.

Activities planned:

Activities can include planting and growing vegetables, maintaining raised beds and polytunnels, harvesting fresh produce, creating wildlife habitats, woodworking and other seasonal conservation tasks. No previous experience is needed and activities can be adapted to suit different abilities and confidence levels.

Intended Audience: 18+

Requirements – clothing, public transport options, parking etc:

Clothing: Please wear comfortable outdoor clothing suitable for the weather, including sturdy, closed-toe footwear. Waterproofs provided

What to bring: TCV will provide all gardening and conservation tools and equipment.

Public transport: Brooke Park is within walking distance of Derry city centre and is accessible by local bus services.

Parking: Parking is available nearby, with limited parking at/around Brooke Park. Please allow extra time to find a space.

Accessibility: Activities can be adapted to suit different abilities and levels of experience. Please let us know in advance if you have any specific access requirements.
