Summary:
This is a rewarding opportunity to work outdoors, learn about native tree species and make a lasting contribution to the Mourne landscape.
Activities planned:
Volunteers will get hands-on experience with a variety of practical gardening and horticultural tasks, which may include weeding, potting, watering, seed collection and processing, as well as general nursery maintenance.
Intended Audience: Those who would like to spend the day outdoors and learn about our native trees.
Age Limits: Over 18s and over 12s accompanied by a guardian.
Requirements – clothing, public transport options, parking etc:
Due to location travel by car is necessary, parking is limited, please car share if attending with a friend.
What you should bring:
- Warm clothing that you don’t mind getting a bit grubby (and maybe change for heading home in)
- Sturdy shoes, hiking boots or wellies
- Waterproof Coat (We have some to loan but need to check sizes in advance)
- Waterproof Trousers (Again we can loan if required but let us know)
- Lunch including Hot and cold drinks
- Any relevant personal medication
