NIEL awarded grant from the Covid Recovery Employment and Skills Initiative for Heritage

NIEL are pleased to announce that we have been awarded £99,653 from the Covid Recovery Employment and Skills Initiative for Heritage to help us develop our work in the heritage sector

This funding is provided by the Department for Communities and delivered by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. It is designed to support the sustainability of heritage organisations and assist the sector in recovery from the impacts of the pandemic.

Our award was for a three-year Historic Environment Policy and Project Officer role to develop our work within the Heritage Sector and to support the Historic Environment Division’s Historic Environment Stakeholder Group. Commenting on the award, Craig McGuicken, CEO, said: “We are really pleased to receive this funding. The pandemic has had a significant and lasting impact on the sector. It will help NIEL to support our members and a wide range of organisations within the Historic Environment to work better together.”
