The Conservation Volunteers & NI Electricity Networks – Free Trees for Schools and Communities

The Conservation Volunteers are working in partnership with Northern Ireland Electricity Networks to plant trees across Northern Ireland. We are offering free trees, advice and planting support to schools and community groups and anticipate supporting around 20 tree planting projects this winter. This project will be ongoing for several years and more trees will be available in autumn 2024.

Our aim is to create small areas of woodland and hedges will be given a lower priority. We will also support small orchards, which are planted with heritage verities of fruit trees, which are historically connected to Northern Ireland.

Successful applicants for free trees will receive an advisory site visit to advise on the best tree mix for their site and number of trees required. We will then help run a planting event involving the applicants members or network to plant the trees.

The application form is open until Tuesday 30th January 2024
