About The Role

At WWT we shape unforgettable experiences. Castle Espie has an amazing living collection, grounds and reserve. It has a lot of infrastructure which requires regular maintenance. By volunteering your time with this small group you will be helping to ensure that Castle Espies grounds are maintained to the highest standards for our visitors. We use resources creatively to maximum effect which is why we need enthusiastic and hardworking people to help with these projects.

Volunteers are an essential part of the WWT team. You’ll get a warm welcome, including information on training, equipment and anything else you need.

About You

Who are we looking for?

In order to carry out this role, you will need to be / have:

• Prepared to be hands on and enthusiastic for completing practical tasks.
• Some experience in maintenance or building skills or just generally happy to be working hand on.
• Friendly, patient and dependable.
• Physically fit and happy to work outdoors in all weathers.
• Capable of working as part of a team and on your own.
• An excellent ability to communicate effectively with staff and other volunteers.
• Confidence to engage our visitors with the work of WWT.
• Willing to train and learn new skills and carry out essential safety training whilst working with us.
