Are you passionate about seabird conservation and keen to take on a role with real and lasting impact? We are seeking a Finance & Administration Officer to join an ambitious programme focused on safeguarding Northern Ireland’s coasts and seabird populations, while sharing best practice across the island of Ireland.

Funded by PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB), the Coastal Monitoring and Adaptation Planning (CMAP) project is a €9.6M cross-border initiative, led by Ulster University. CMAP will enable communities, stakeholders and decision-makers to better understand and adapt to the challenges of coastal change driven by climate change.

About the Role

As a Finance & Administration Officer you will:

  • Provide comprehensive business administrative support to the RSPB NI CMAP Seabird Restoration Team, including the administration of financial processes, travel and accommodation, events, organising and maintaining materials and equipment, diary bookings and fleet car administration so that staff and volunteers operate efficiently.
  • Provide a dedicated administrative support service to the Project Manager including diary management, drafting letters and other communications, organising travel and accommodation, arranging meetings, so that the individual can carry out their role as efficiently as possible.
  • Build, maintain and develop effective relationships with people at all levels, both internally and externally, using diplomacy and tact, while ensuring that complex confidential and sensitive matters are handled appropriately, so that all contact is professional and RSPB is represented in a positive manner.
  • Undertake financial management and reporting processes, and analysis of information when required to ensure that financial information is well managed so that RSPB obtains value for money and managers have access to accurate and current information at all times.
  • Provide a high level of technical / operational knowledge in the functional area, or in system, facilities or information management to support and deliver functional operations, so that RSPB managers and teams have the necessary skills and knowledge to operate effectively.
  • Provide comprehensive project and programme administration support to multiple large projects and programmes, in accordance with the RSPB’s Project Management Framework, so that these run smoothly and efficiently.
