National Trust – Coast & Countryside Volunteer – Giant’s Causeway

Description

Volunteering as part of a team, Coast & Countryside volunteers help look after, improve and protect special outdoor places so that nature and wildlife can thrive and everyone can enjoy Giant’s Causeway.

Currently volunteers meet on a Friday.

Do you live relatively locally to the Causeway Coast? As a conservation charity aiming to reduce team carbon emissions we would love to hear from potential volunteers who do not need to travel too far to volunteer with us.

What’s involved?

  • Helping the ranger team with practical work to keep the countryside in great condition.
  • Sharing what’s great about Giant’s Causeway and helping people understand why we need to take care of special places.
  • Helping monitor the condition of our paths and visitor routes so as many people as possible can access Giant’s Causeway.
  • Helping monitor wildlife nature and habitats and report any issues.

We want all our volunteers to feel welcome and to have an equally positive experience when volunteering with us. So, volunteers will:

  • Be provided with the necessary induction, training, equipment and reasonable adjustments to do this role well and safely.
  • Be offered expenses to cover agreed travel costs between home and place of volunteering.
  • Have remote access to support, news and rotas via our volunteer website.
