A permanent vacancy currently exists within Mid and East Antrim Borough Council for the following posts and applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates:-

Climate and Sustainability Manager

• 37 hours per week
• Scale PO7, SCP 45-48, £56,730 to £60,208 per annum

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

• Lead and be responsible for the development, co-ordination, implementation and evaluation of Council’s Climate Change and Sustainability Strategy and Action Plan and associated environmental management activities.
• Responsible for active engagement with internal and external stakeholders to deliver Council’s Climate Change ambitions, ensuring that these are delivered within Council’s framework of quality standards, performance targets, budgetary control and legislative requirements.
• Responsible for driving Climate Change performance improvement across all Council services, including monitoring and identifying good practice at a local, regional, national and international level.
• Work in collaboration with other services, external partners and senior management to ensure Council’s Climate Change agenda is joined up and appropriately aligned to the achievement of Council’s aims and objectives.
