Belfast Health and Social Care Trust – Gardener (Horticulture) Volunteer at Musgrave Park Hospital

Description

We are looking for enthusiastic Volunteers to join our growing team in promoting and supporting Environmental Friendliness by volunteering to enhance and complement outdoor spaces for patients. You will provide and be given instruction regarding general maintenance of gardens such as weeding, re-planting flowerbeds, pruning, clearing leaves etc. The area provides a therapeutic environment for patients so they can enjoy a tidy, vibrant site and therefore help improve wellbeing.

If you want to give back to your community, help others and be part of a great Volunteer network this role is for you! In return we will give you lots of support to get the best out of your role and travel expenses. All materials are provided, some level of physical fitness is required. Supervision by dedicated staff is provided.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Gardening – general tidying up
  • To request plants and bulbs when seasonally required for planting
  • To guide staff on any maintenance required in relevant area
  • To liaise with relevant member of staff relating to other garden projects
