SONI plans Northern Ireland’s electricity grid. To strengthen the grid and support future electricity needs, SONI needs to decide where one new overhead power line between Tandragee and Armagh should be placed.

The Community Forum is an opportunity for community representatives to come together to build their understanding of the proposed route options, reflect the views of their organisation or community, and provide information or insights that may need to be taken into account during project delivery.

The Forum will meet approximately three times between Autumn 2026 and Spring 2027 with the first meeting scheduled for 14th September from 7.00 – 9.00 pm in Armagh City Hotel.

The Community Forum will run alongside the Community Sounding Board which will consist of 25 members selected at random from the local area reflecting local demographics. The Sounding Board will deliberate in depth and make recommendations directly to SONI before the final route is confirmed.
