Nutrient runoff is one of Northern Ireland’s most urgent environmental challenges, affecting water quality, biodiversity, and local communities. This panel discussion brings together key voices from science, policy, and industry to explore the issue from multiple perspectives and consider practical, innovative solutions.
The panel features Chris Johnston, Project Leader for Environment and Renewable Energy at the Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute; Jonathan McFerran, Head of Excess Nutrient Policy at DAERA; and a representative from Stream BioEnergy, offering insight into industry-led and renewable energy approaches.
Chaired by Louise Cullen, the discussion will connect research, on-the-ground farming practice, anaerobic digestion, and policy, highlighting how collaboration can help turn a pressing environmental challenge into an opportunity for progress, more sustainable farming, and food production and security.
Join us for a lively and thought-provoking conversation on shaping a cleaner, more sustainable future for Northern Ireland.
