Category: Days Out

Date: 5th October 2025

Time: 11:00am – 5:00pm

Location: Ardress House, 64 Ardress Road, Annaghmore, Portadown, Co. Armagh BT62 1SQ

Celebrate Armagh’s apple heritage at Ardress House with family fun, nature, and seasonal activities in orchard county. Apple Sundays not only highlight the cultural importance of Armagh’s apples but also showcase the environmental value of traditional orchards, which support biodiversity and contribute to the health of our local ecosystems. Visitors will have the chance to explore the grounds, engage with traditional craft demonstrations, and appreciate the role these landscapes play in sustaining both community and climate resilience. The event will include apple picking(for £5 a bag), apple pressing, tractor rides, spinning and blacksmith demonstrations, facepainting, music from 1-4pm, and a selection of stalls.

Intended audience: Families

Age limits: Family Friendly – welcoming all ages

Requirements: While we love dogs, and love having them at our other properties dogs are not permitted at Ardress House as chickens roam freely in its farmyard. This event is free, but normal National Trust admission charges apply for the venue. Parking spaces are limited, so if you can car share with friends or family, please do. While some of the traders and vendors will accept cards, we advise bringing cash with you to avoid missing out on any treats.
