Thanks to a unique microclimate, Mount Stewart’s gardens on the shore of Strangford Lough are filled with Mediterranean and exotic plants – even banana trees. But as a changing climate brings greater weather extremes, storms and sea level rise, the National Trust is considering whether the gardens’ location remains sustainable over the coming decades.
Join the gardening and research team from an ongoing National Trust and University of Bristol weather observation project on a 2.5km walk around Mount Stewart to learn more about this unique garden, its flora and how climate data can be used to help plan for its future.
Ticket price includes entry to Mount Stewart.
