Summary:

Join the PeacePlus Nature Community team and MEA Outdoors for an outdoor workshop at Keeran Moss, all about Peatlands and local biodiversity!

Activities planned:

Weather dependant. An introduction to saving Ireland’s flora with coffee, tea and cake. A walk around the growing field. A look at the polytunnels and cleaning lab, with a peek inside the most comprehensive Seed Bank of native Irish flora.

Intended Audience: Adults (18+) interested in outdoor learning and connecting with nature.

Age Limits: 18+

Requirements – clothing, public transport options, parking etc:

• This is a free event!
• Location: Meet at Woodburn Forest Upper Car Park, 190 Woodburn Rd, Carrickfergus BT38 9AQ for 09:45. We will be leaving the car park via bus at 10:00 to travel to nearby Keeran Moss. The bus will return us to the car park for 14:00.
• Footwear: Sturdy, waterproof walking boots or wellies are essential. We will be heading off-path onto uneven terrain.
• Clothing: Prepare for the weather, ensure you have suitable clothing for a day outdoors! Waterproofs and layers are advised.
• Food/drink: Please bring water and a packed lunch/snack. Tea/coffee and refreshments will be provided. If you can, please bring a reusable cup!
