Blog: Climate change and land use in NI: opportunities and challenges to net zero
With 75% of NI’s land area managed for agriculture, the farming industry has a key role to play in tackling climate change. The scale of the task is huge, but the opportunity to change, survive and ultimately thrive is there. Co-design of future land-use policy with the industry, adequate resourcing of agri-environment initiatives to manage carbon-storing habitats, and sustainable food production is key.
