At WWT we create and conserve wetlands and save species. We bring awe-inspiring nature up close and let it do the talking. Our collection team is responsible for the care, breeding and welfare of WWT’s collection birds. We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join the Collection team. This is a great opportunity to work directly with the birds and gain valuable experience in grounds maintenance, animal husbandry and conservation.

Who will be responsible for your role? Senior Collection Keeper Where will you be based? WWT Castle Espie How much time will it take? We are looking for volunteers that can do 1-2 days a week.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Assisting with the day-to-day management of waterfowl exhibits including exhibit maintenance and horticulture work.
• Assisting with public engagement regarding the Living Collections.
• Assisting the team with animal management including feeding, health checks and species audits.
• Occasionally helping with bird catches and annual health checks.
