Space & Place – Wider Learning

S&P-infographic

The links and information on this page focus on wider learning from Space & Place and are relevant to the wider sector and stakeholders with an interest or involvement in capital projects, funding and community–led regeneration.

Community–led regeneration: Learning for funders

Delivering projects under capital funding programmes is a challenge for any community group but those wishing to develop and support these programmes need to provide the right support and enabling environment. This factsheet on ‘Key lessons from Space & Place – programme development and application process’ gives an insight into early observations and lessons for consideration by funders and those wishing to support community–led capital projects, from programme inception, to development, to programme delivery.

Capital grants key learning

With Community Planning now integrated locally into the Super Councils in Northern Ireland, Community–led regeneration will increasingly become an approach which requires the right skills and capacity, as well as an enabling environment. This factsheet on ‘Community–led regeneration: Capital grants – key learning points’ highlights the key lessons identified within the Space & Place programme and how this may be applicable to the delivery of similar community and capital development programmes.

Health & Environment

In November 2015 the Space & Place programme partnered on the ‘Delivering Health through the Environment’ conference, hosted by the Space & Place consortium partners NIEL, supported by the Public Health Agency (PHA). Click the Health & Environment title to download a summary factsheet produced from the event.

Sustainability & Planning for the future

This factsheet based on a Space & Place Community Change workshop, summaries advice to grantees on how best to plan for the future and develop their project Sustainability Plan.
