Voluntary Weather Observers

Description

The Met Office are currently expanding their network of voluntary weather observations in various locations throughout N.Ireland. Volunteer weather observers are required to take once a day weather observations each morning. The recorded weather data is then submitted to the Met Office either by website entry or by supplied prepaid data cards.

The Met Office will supply and install the required equipment depending on the type of weather observation recorded at the site. Subject to geographic location and a suitable site survey, equipment will be provided, installed and full on–site training will be provided.
