Horizon Renewables 12 January 2010

Horizon Renewables grants available

Horizon Renewables specialises in renewable energy such as wind turbines and PV (solar panels).

There are grants available at the moment for non-profit or charitable organisations of up to 50% off the cost of the installation of a wind turbine, with an additional 15% top up from Northern Ireland Electricity. This means that a total of 65% of the total bill is covered by grants. The average payback on a 15kw turbine is between 3-5 years after which it will generate a profit. This grants scheme ends in March 2010 and as planning permission can take upwards of 10 weeks time is running out.

50% Grants are available from the Low Carbon Building Programme. £5000 Top-up from NIE. An average payback on your turbine of 3-5 years

Life expectancy of a machine is 25 years.
