Lough Erne Wildfowlers’ Council (LEWC) have been running successful community-based wader conservation projects around Lough Erne, Co. Fermanagh for almost 10 years. To mark this milestone, LEWC will host a breeding wader conference at Lusty Beg Resort, Co. Fermanagh on Thursday November 23rd 2023. Appropriately, our conference will be held on the shores of Lower Lough Erne, beside our initial conservation project site.

The conference entitled Working Together for Waders – a collaborative approach to countryside management will showcase several local, national and international wader conservation activities.

The conference will highlight how genuine partnerships across diverse organisations and sectors can benefit breeding wader populations, their habitats and wider biodiversity.  It will feature presentations from conservation experts from Ireland, the UK and Europe.

Please find attached the conference agenda, which includes a mix of fascinating presentations and discussion sessions regarding key topics pertaining to breeding wader conservation.

We would be delighted if you could join us to participate in what promises to be a unique event and an opportunity to kickstart future successful breeding wader recovery projects.
