The National Climate Change Conference 2021

Wednesday 27 January 2021

TBC, Central London

In 2019, the UK Government became the first major economy pass laws ending its contribution to global warming in 2050. The 2020 Decarbonising Transport policy supports this, complementing existing initiatives across the UK. The Committee on Climate Change has highlighted that the Covid–19 recovery effort presents an opportunity to invest in green infrastructure and low–carbon jobs as we develop new ways to live and work.

Key Statistics

  • As part of the Covid–19 relief effort, the Government has announced £2 billion investment in cycling and walking initiatives
  • The total net domestic greenhouse gas emissions from all UK sectors in 2018 was 451 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent, down 2.1% from 2017
  • Transport is the largest contributor to UK domestic greenhouse gas emissions, contributing 28% of UK domestic emissions in 2018, a rise of 4% since 2013
  • In July 2019, the UK recorded its highest ever temperature of 38oC

Join us at The National Climate Change Conference 2021 to hear the latest government updates and environmental initiatives across the UK. Hear best practice case studies demonstrating successful and innovative approaches to implementing green infrastructure, housing and transport.

This conference will provide:

  • High level keynotes on the latest policy including reducing emissions and the local government initiatives
  • Case studies from leading experts in developing and delivering strategies to address and tackle climate change
  • A wide range of topics covering support and guidance for local government, housing and more
  • 8 hours of CPD points towards your yearly quota
