The Flaggy Shore

Saturday 10 June 2017

Seamus Heaney HomePlace, Bellaghy

Environmentalist, teacher and painter Gordon D’Arcy will lead a unique celebration of The Flaggy Shore, the magical stretch of coastline in County Clare which features in Heaney’s poem ‘Postscript’, at Seamus Heaney HomePlace on Saturday 10 June at 7.30pm.

Combining words, live artwork and traditional music, the event will see Gordon presenting a nature and live art workshop based on local flora and fauna and connecting Seamus Heaney’s local inspiration at Lough Beg with Lough Muree (the setting for the poem) and the Flaggy Shore.

The event offers something for naturalists, historians and anyone interested in poetry and the outdoors and tickets are £10. Book online now at http://www.seamusheaneyhome.com
