Public Good by Private Means?

Friday 19 May 2017

The Performance Area, Linen Hall Library

As part of Northern Ireland Philanthropy Fortnight 2017, the “Investing in Northern Ireland’s Heritage” programme will be hosting an event on “Public Good by Private Means”. This event will be taking place at the Linen Hall Library on Friday 19th May (10:00am – 12:00pm).

“In a welfare state that uses our tax money to meet our basic social needs, alongside a commercial sector that enables us to buy pretty much anything else we want, does money voluntarily given away to help others still have a meaningful role to play?”

(Rhondri Evans, “Public Good by Private Means: How Philanthropy Shapes Britain”)
