NI Social Farms & Gardens Annual Forum 2019

Saturday 11 May 2019

The Duncairn Centre, Duncairn Avenue, Belfast BT14 6BP

Register Now for our Annual Networking Event.

Social Farms & Gardens have got a great networking event planned for Saturday  11th May in the Duncairn centre in Belfast. We  hope to follow a day of workshops with a social in the  evening.

We are lucky enough to have Pam Warhurst from Incredible Edible coming to speak, if you have ever heard her, you’ll know how  encouraging and inspiring she is to listen to.  The  Incredible Edible vision is to create kind, confident  and connected communities through the power of food.  Pam  and her friends in Todmorden turned spare green spaces in  their town into productive food growing areas. They used  growing as a visible sign of a kinder community –  Incredible Edible has spread throughout  the UK and globally.

We will be running a number of fun practical workshops aiming to share the skills  existing in our communities. We will also have discussions  to bring out the needs and issues of our sector, to enable  us to represent ourselves better to  decision makers and funders. We’d like to hear from you  what these discussions should centre around: Let us know  what is important to you right now, and what skills and  knowledge you have to share.

Lunch will be provided.

There will be a site visit to Peas Park, a shared growing space run by local artists from North Belfast, followed by a Garden Party at GROW community garden, in the Waterworks Park.

This event is kindly funded through the People and Communities programme of the National Lottery Community Fund.
