Modernising and Decarbonising Energy in the UK Forum

Wednesday 29 April 2020

Central London

The Committee on Climate Change’s July 2019 report published that the UK has fallen behind in progress to tackle and prepare for climate change, warning that targets will not be met unless the government urgently delivers critical policies to get emissions reductions back on track.

Westminster Insight’s half–day forum will examine plans to achieve net–zero, discuss energy efficiency measures for buildings, and explore initiatives and technologies to accelerate the decarbonisation of the sector. We will review the government’s response to tackling climate change through future consultations and increased efforts in reducing carbon emissions in the transport industry.

Lord Deben will be chairing the day, allowing there to be a CCC voice throughout, whilst Laura Sandy’s will be giving you insight into unlocking the potential of data sharing across the energy system to support decarbonisation. This conference will explore what measures government, businesses, and society must take to reduce emissions, with a particular focus on how technology and innovation can be used to accelerate the modernisation of the system and implement major changes.

Join your peers and thought leaders from industry, central government, and academia to gain practical strategies that can support the transformation of the energy sector and lead the way to a greener future.
