How To Talk About The Climate Crisis To Anyone

Sunday 15 November 2020 - 06/12/20

Online

A live, interactive, 4–part course to give you the confidence to talk about the climate crisis to anyone. Supported by the Eden Project.

About this Event

This course will equip you with the knowledge to cut through the misinformation and fake news, and the confidence to weave your understanding into everyday conversations, actions and plans in a way that makes a difference.

Rather than overwhelming you with data and charts, our course goes beyond the science; covering solutions, psychology and creative approaches to communication.

At the end of the course, you will be able to confidently talk to anyone about the climate crisis and ready to be a catalyst for positive change.

Who is this course for?

It doesn’t matter what level of understanding you start with; our climate course is for you, whether you’re a teacher, a farmer, a lawyer or a student.

Please note: this course is recommended for learners aged 16 to adult, though younger learners are welcome to join.

What you’ll get

We know that the climate crisis has many elements, and that there’s somewhere for everyone to make a difference, and that’s why our course spans behavioural psychology, climate anxiety, activism and more.

This course will give you:??

• Knowledge: how to cut through the misinformation and fake news, giving you the ability to understand the key concepts and the confidence so you can talk to anyone about it.

• Solutions: how close and simple so many of them are, what needs to be done, and what you can do.?• Interactivity: the core material is fixed, but attendees have the opportunity to engage and ask questions throughout, with an additional live Q & A at the end of each lesson.

• Interactivity: The core material is fixed, but attendees have the opportunity to engage and ask questions throughout, with an additional live Q & A at the end of each lesson.

• Flexibility: each lesson will run multiple times, so you’ll have the choice of several days and times for each part of the course you attend.?

• Resources: clear, simple and up–to–date resources that you can download and share.

Outcomes

At the end of this course, you will be aware of the gravity of what we face, but rather than feeling anxious and hopeless, you will feel energised and empowered .

We believe that if we’re going to face this crisis together, everyone needs to understand it, and feel enabled to weave their understanding into everyday conversations, actions and future plans.

We will provide you with a certificate of attendance.
