Enough is Enough – The Rise and Rise of Food Poverty

Friday 25 October 2019

TBC, Belfast

Belfast Food Network is hosting an event to highlight the rise and rise of food poverty in Belfast and across Northern Ireland.

About this Event

Food Poverty is a growing issue in our cities, towns and countryside. Thousands of people are affected daily. Food banks and charitable organisations are overwhelmed with increasing numbers with little or no coordinated support.

This event will highlight activities in Belfast and across the province that are tackling food poverty and are keen on developing long term solutions.

Speakers:

Dr Liz Mitchell, Belfast Food Network – The growth of food poverty

Ellen Finlay, Children in NI – Holiday Hunger in Northern Ireland

Kate Clifford, Rural Community Network / Food Forum NI – The need for a coordinated, strategic approach

Ben Pearson, Food Power – Seeking long–term solutions with experts by experience
