Who we work with on Brexit

NBC

The NBC structure allows NIEL to agree common responses to a number of Brexit related environmental issues and reflect our shared position through nominated NBC representatives to a number of local fora including the NI Government Joint Brexit Consultative Committee and the Department of Agriculture, Environment & Rural Affairs Brexit Environmental Stakeholder Group. As well as facilitating improved advocacy at a Northern Ireland level, the NBC structure also enables NIEL to collaborate with a number of other organisations and coalitions with shared interests in achieving our objectives from Brexit on a North/ South and East West basis, including:

Environment Links UK: We work closely with our sister Links in England, Scotland and Wales to develop UK–wide responses, position statements, advocacy messages and campaigns.

The Environmental Pillar (Republic of Ireland): To develop joint environmental positions on the basis of an all – island approach to environmental issuesand promote these positions at government level.

Greener UK: Environment Links UK has very closely aligned objectives for Brexit with Greener UK. A number of organisations are members of both coalitions. We therefore collaborate on a number of work areas to ensure that the environment sector can speak with one voice on Brexit.
