Northern Ireland Environment Link (NIEL) is the networking and forum body for organisations interested in the natural and built environment of Northern Ireland. NIEL was formally launched in 1990 to complete the UK network: Scottish Environment Link, Wales Environment Link and Wildlife and Countryside Link.
Funding
NIEL is funded by the Northern Ireland Environment Agency, the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, the Heritage Lottery Fund, Building Change Trust and from membership subscriptions.
Status
NIEL is a company limited by guarantee (NI34988) and is registered with the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland (NIC101074).
