Sumptuous doublets, gorgeous gowns, ruffs and pearls are a plenty this weekend at Dunluce Castle.Celebrations and demonstrations with Lord Randal and Lady Catherine McDonnell will showcase the 17th century at the two day event (30 June and 1 July) of interest to all ages.The Irish Open may be at Royal Portrush but people can come along and see the Lord and Lady getting to grips with the original rules of golf, playing with reproductions of the first clubs. Visitors will also have the chance to participate. Rhonda Robinson said: “This is an exciting opportunity to see how golf was played 400 years ago. And for those not interested in golf but rather our exciting history, there will be plenty of period dress on display this weekend and a great opportunity to see what it was like to live in a castle.”Demonstrations at the free event take place from noon to 5pm.
