Membership of NIEL is a two-way street: to enjoy the benefits, members need to engage and to commit resources. The input of members' commitment and energies is the true investment from which they gain added value.


WHO CAN JOIN?

Full Membership is open to voluntary organisations whose aims include promoting the conservation of the environment of Northern Ireland. Full Members are the governing body of NIEL (they have the right to vote and to serve on the Executive Committee) and are involved in sub-committees, taskforces, consultations, meetings and all other activities.

Statutory organisations, companies or individuals with environmental interests are eligible for Associate Membership. Associate Members are not involved in the governance of the organisation. However, they do obtain information, participate at meetings and may become involved in taskforces.


MEMBERSHIP FEES

There are several 'bands' of fees for membership; the fee charged is based on an organisation's ability to pay and the degree to which they wish to be actively involved. Subscriptions are a significant and vital source of income, but we do not wish the fee to be a barrier to participation for any group genuinely interested in NIEL's work.
