Heritage & Philanthropy – Belfast Charitable Society and QUB, The Heritage Project

Thursday 18 May 2017

Clifton House Belfast

One of our many common links, in the area of Heritage, is that much of what we are now responsible for was made available through generosity of others in the past. Their philanthropic acts have created a wealth of built heritage, archives and collections for all to share.

Philanthropy still plays a key role in our work today: whether adding to our collections, in conservation and preservation projects, and enhancing access to our heritage.

This half–day session takes a brief look back at the importance of philanthropy in the past and then focuses on philanthropic opportunities for us today. We will learn more about trends in global philanthropy and how we can influence these and how individuals and organisations are demonstrating their generosity today.
