Waste & Resources Action Programme
Construction Waste Management

Thu 4th February 2010, Belfast

By supporting the sector goal of halving the amount of construction waste being sent to landfill by 2012, your business has an opportunity to improve performance and reduce its carbon footprint.

Aims

These workshops will provide attendees with practical guidance and tools to assist in collecting and recovering materials from construction waste. Key tools will also be introduced to help you respond to client and contractor requirements.

Who should attend?

  • Waste management contractors dealing with construction waste.
  • Demolition contractors and construction contractors interested in working with waste managers to improve recovery rates and reporting of waste data.

Programme

Workshops will commence at 8.30am with breakfast rolls, tea and coffee, and will conclude at 12.30pm. The session will examine the need to work in partnership to improve the quality of waste, and measure and report improvements, offering perspectives from across the supply chain, and outlining the business opportunity that the Construction Commitments: Halving Waste to Landfill presents. Delegates will also have the opportunity to learn about the free tools and guidance available to support companies in meeting waste reduction targets, including contractual templates for WMCs, and the new measurement tool: the Site Specific Waste Analysis Tool.

To register for a workshop, please complete the on-line registration form. Once your place is confirmed, further information and a delegate pack will be sent to you in advance of the event.
